Mounted Banners

A cheaper option for a WIP facility or for decorating a lot.

Description: Mounted Banners are a type of outdoor fabric sign that are adhered to a frame. These can be used in place of a more permanent sign that has yet to be installed, or as vibrant advertisements that grab people’s attention with their movement.

Banners can be made of canvas, polyester fabric, or a variety of different vinyls.

Mounted banners can be wrapped around a frame, or adhered with rivets, or even tied to a building or frame with rope looped through rings around the outside of the sign. In the case of the waving banners above, the fabric of the sign is looped at the end, allowing it slide onto the metal fingers that support it.

Advantages:

  • A professional way of adding more colour to your lot.

  • Suitable for when you want to exhibit permanent advertising around your business’ location.

  • Customizable - able to swap out what banners are being displayed.

  • When advertising, make sure to get the best mileage out of your sign by ensuring your ad is as eye-catching as possible.

Cost: $300 - $2 000

  • The banner itself is cheap, however metal frames will drive up the price.

Lifespan: 10+ years.

  • Regular maintenance will increase the lifespan.

  • If vinyl, mild soaps and cleaners are best to ensure the banner does not discolour or erode.

    • Plastic signs and banners can usually handle standard workplace cleaners. But remember to always check the label just in case.

FREESTANDING BANNERS

Description: Freestanding banners are the smaller, portable cousin of mounted banners. Just like their mounted counterparts, freestanding banners can be made of canvas, polyester fabric, or a variety of different vinyls.

Just like mounted banners, as well as most outdoor fabric signs in general, this type of banner can really be whatever size you like, although if you want your banner to remain freestanding, it’s advisable to not make them much larger than 3 feet by 8 feet, if that.

Freestanding banners come with the equipment needed to support themselves without having to be attached to a building or larger structure. As in the pictures above, the banners come with a metal base containing a roller under tension which allows the banner to retract inside for easy transport. When on display, simple framing stretches the banner out and keeps it from snapping back into the base. These banners can also have metal feet or slender A-frame stands to hold them up for display.

Advantages:

  • Very portable.

  • Small & lightweight.

  • Easy to clean.

  • Suitable for outdoor or indoor use.

  • Affordable for temporary booths, installations, conferences, or small businesses.

  • Customizable.

Cost: $100 - $300

Lifespan: 5+ years

  • If left outside, freestanding banners may only last a year.

  • Excessive jostling can damage the mechanism that allows the freestanding banner to retract.

AWNINGS

Awnings come in a variety of sizes.

Description: Awnings are permanent fixtures usually installed at the entrance to a business in place of a standard wall sign. They’re often installed above doors or windows and protrude out from the building, resulting in a more interesting façade.

Awnings can be made of fabric, but plastic is another common choice.

Additionally, fabric awnings can be installed along with retractable metal arms, allowing the awning to compress back towards the building. This is helpful for indicating whether your business is open or closed, or if heavy weather is an issue in your area and you want to protect your sign.

Advantages:

  • Professional.

  • Stylish.

  • Welcoming and colourful.

  • Can double as a practical way to stay out of the rain or bright sun.

Cost: $2 000 - $5 000

Lifespan: 10+ years

  • Regular maintenance will increase the lifespan.

We used AGC for a recent outdoor office sign project. Rhonda and the team did an incredible job, were very communicative, and delivered a great project, even replacing a few light bulbs for us. Would highly recommend them.

Quality work and quick turnaround times. I asked for mock layouts which were provided to me instantly, affordable pricing, and required some signage immediately. Rhonda was attentive, quick to respond, and ensured we got all of our signage within a week (even with the July 1st holiday) happening that week. We will be coming to AGS signs for all of our signage and promotional materials! Thank you.
